What Guests Are Saying
Charbonneau Park and Campground is praised for its beautiful, well-maintained grounds, spacious sites, and friendly staff, making it a popular spot for relaxation and outdoor activities, particularly near the river. Many reviews highlight the park's cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere, with some recommending it for RV camping due to limited water hookups. While there are some concerns about understaffing and the need for restroom upgrades, overall, visitors express a strong desire to return and enjoy the park's scenic views and community feel.

I have been going to this park off and on for years I was so disappointed this last time the spiders were out of control hundreds of spiders every day we killed them and every day there were more... we would clear them off the truck and trailer just to have more every day. I find it hard to believe that they are not doing anything to control them in the afternoon you can sit and watch them come down there web from the trees.
I have been told that it has been like this for the last few years and not getting better. I am sad to say I not in a hurry to ever go back.

The camp host made the trouble with the lack of water worth staying for the days we were there. They were very friendly and helpful. It was very disappointing not to have the water we needed and that the bathhouse was closed. The other very nice thing was that when we left a power adapter and screw driver at our campsite it is getting mailed to our home in Kentucky. We were going to pick it up on our way home by staying at Charbonneau again but now there is NO water and we cannot stay for the 5 nights like we had planned because of our 49th anniversary. So we had to find another campground on short notice. I usually plan to stay at COE campgrounds on the trips we take. But a full hook up without water is not a full hookup.

Our annual family reunion at Chardonneau Park, wasn't as good as it has been in the past. The facilities were dirty, TP was consistently out and the grounds where dry. And the host where rude. When speaking with the about our family reunion, the host interrupted and said "you mean family rebellion", not sure if that was meant as a joke or not. But through our stay the host attitude was not welcoming.

Unacceptable to have the garbage cans moved out of the camping area. With a motorhome and not being able to walk that far, it’s a great inconvenience. Have a pickup service if you want them that far away.

Clean, spacious and beautiful. A very nice park and can’t wait to come back with our boat and fishing tackle.
