We always have a great time at the park. This past stay was wonderful. I would like to see the grass a little greener. And i must say having a camp site with the gravel pad was the best. It kept all the dirt from getting tracked in our trailer. Would like to see the park open thru september. As we come there once a month every month you are open.

First experience at Hood Park - it was wonderful. The park staff were awesome, both at the checkin gate house and the park rangers. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. The grounds & facilities were well kept. We had a river-side pull thru site...beautiful. Don't think we'd care for one of the back-ins or backside sites...but the older shade trees made it seem like any site would be OK....just given the choice, we'd rather be by the water.
Only 2 things could have made it a little better - but not show stoppers.
1- There was only 1 small opening to the water at the campsites - trees, reeds, etc. It would have been nice to have been able to more easily access the water for both small watercraft and for the dog to cool off. There was plenty of water access closer to the day-use area.
2 - There was a crazy amount of earwigs (insects). They were in everything left outside...therefore a few made it inside the RV. We're used to dealing with the typical camping bugs, but never so many earwigs. Guessing it was just the "right" time of year for them.
I hadn't really camped at a "no alcohol" campground before - We personally don't drink so not directly a factor for us. What we didn't realize was how much a difference it made in the atmosphere of the entire campground. Totally family friendly & not a lot of loud voices into the night.
We will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful well-maintained park. Big sites. I'd say about 90 of them were filled with RVs. But as a tenter it was great to have electricity to run a fan when it was 100 degrees in the shade. There's a nice grassy swimming area. The restrooms were clean and everyone followed guidelines for staying 6 feet apart.
The boat ramp has plenty of room though I didn't have a boat so I can't say how good the ramp is. Plenty of boats used it.
The only downside is you hear road noise from traffic on the bridge almost all the time. Across the river there is a huge grainery that makes its own noise too. If you are a tenter, bring ear plugs.

The facilities were very nice and clean. I was disturbed by all the big black spiders dropping from the trees.

We are local but we like to camp Hood Park just to get away and relax by the water for a few days.

- Park gate closed and quiet hours from;
- All campers must STOP and check-in at gate house before proceeding into the campground

- PETS must be RESTRAINED on a 6 ft leash at ALL TIMES
- Campfires allowed UNLESS A FIRE BAN is in effect
