Peterson Prairie Campground is highly praised for its friendly hosts, Cathy and Joel, who maintain a clean and welcoming environment. Campers enjoy spacious, shaded sites and abundant opportunities for outdoor activities, including hiking and berry picking. The spacious campground was a great place for our church group to come together. There's lots of parking and many tent sites. Trails lead lead right out of the campground.

We enjoyed walking from the campground to nearby natural bridges, ice cave and lava features. Sites were large, campground and vault toilets were very clean. Its a lovely location.

This campground has large campsites to accommodate most trailers and/or several tents. Some sites have good separation from other campers, and some don't. There are no water hookups, but many water faucets are located throughout the campground. The water is clear and good. There is no electricity in the campground. RV dumping facilities are many miles away. The group camp area must be reserved, and will accommodate many rigs, tents, etc Depending on the region's fire danger, campfires may be prohibited late in the summer season. It is the best location to set out exploring ice caves, natural bridges, and for picking huckleberries nearby. The area is forested, with trees reaching to 180 feet, providing plenty of shade on warm sunny days. .We had no cellular phone or internet service in camp, but could get T-Mobile and Verizon service by driving back a few miles toward the town of Trout Lake. Groceries are available in town and just south of town there is one of the best-equipped hardware stores I've every seen.

Hosts were friendly and helpful. We've come here several times over the years and it's always a great experience with our family. Goose Lake, Ice Caves, Natural Bridges are not too far and there are many trails/roads to explore in the area. Want a great family picture? Drive up to Indian Viewpoint and pose in front of Mt Adams (when not obscured by clouds). You can get cell service in this spot and watch the sun set.

We went the first weekend of August and there were huckleberries everywhere! Campgrounds are spread out enough with enough trees between that you don’t feel like you’re right on top of your neighbors.

The campground has large sites, especially the double sites, and is quiet unless some large group decides to do karaoke all night long. It's convenient to both Trout Lake if you forgot something or need supplies, and to the huckleberry fields.

We do a family camping trip every July and have stayed at Petersen Praire, in the past. The camp host was very pleasant and helpful, the restrooms were clean and once again we had a great time!

The campground manager was very rude. Other than that, the campsites that I purchased were nice and maintained.
