What Guests Are Saying

Jones Bay Campground is a serene and picturesque location ideal for camping, boating, and swimming, with excellent trout fishing opportunities nearby. While the sites are somewhat cramped and amenities like water and trash services are lacking, the peaceful atmosphere and stunning scenery make it a favorite for many visitors. The campground's remote setting and reservation-only policy contribute to its tranquility, although it can be a bit challenging to access.

Long gravel road to get there, but the place is BEAUTIFUL!! Great boat launch and docks. Only bummer was the bathrooms were out of toilet paper the entire time we were there, so make sure you bring some!!

Quiet, peaceful and lovely. The views are wonderful, there isn’t much privacy between campsites unless you reserve a couple of them together. Plenty of trash cans, the bathroom was clean, and the docks well maintained. Bring shade canopies, there isn’t a whole lot at most sites.

Out camp site use to have some great trees but they have all died and been cut down. The site desperately needs a tree or two for shade.

Warning!!! - If you have a BOAT, do not go to this campground, the 10 mile unpaved (and highly rocky and unstable) and sometimes very narrow road you need to take will frustrate you before you even get there, it took us over an hour and a half to drive the last 10 miles of our 5 hour trip. We ruined our boat trailer even though we drove under 10 mph the entire way. The campsite is primitive as it says, we were fortunate to be alone at the campground so difficult to say how it would be with others around. We took our dogs and the lake was beautiful, we only stayed two nights (supposed to stay 5) because the mosquitos were killing us. Not being able to have a campfire stinks and the bathroom was as clean as it could be for a vault toilet. There isn't anywhere to easily and safely enjoy the lake from the shore so we took the boat around the corner where there was a small sandbar, my daughter then stepped on an old fishing hook. Again, not really anyone's fault but just added to a frustrating situation. When on the lake we enjoyed ourselves and appreciated the privacy of the campground, just not a good setup for 2 kids and 3 dogs! The biggest issue was by far the drive so please be aware of the access to this campground.

I don't know who invented online payments in places where most people have no phone service.
That person must be really "smart".
