About Snag Cove Campground

Snag Cove is a small, fairly isolated campground located on the western side of Lake Roosevelt. Eight out of the nine sites are on the lake shore and all sites are open to tents and RVs. A boat launch with trailer parking and courtesy dock frames one side of the campground. Because of its size and popularity, Snag Cove often fills in the summer.

Summary

Snag Cove Campground offers stunning views and a peaceful, small atmosphere, ideal for those who appreciate nature. While the facilities include a pit toilet and no drinking water, the campground has eight reservable sites and a boat ramp. However, the proximity to the road can result in noise, and some sites feel cramped; upkeep and insect presence are noted as areas for improvement.

So loud, one logging truck after another with Jake brakes blaring, stayed two nights and left 2 days early.

Nice campground. However the upkeep of the campground isn’t as nice as they use to be. They used to clear all the pine needles from the asphalt and the camping areas. Layers of pine needles and pinecones are all over the campground. Not a huge deal, but I would think it would be less fuel for fires. Also it just makes our Federal campgrounds look like we care about aesthetics. I think it would be an awesome summer project for youth or adults. Or those sentenced to do community service.

Campground is alright. Super close to the road and not much space between campsites but does have beautiful views and they keep the outhouse alright maintained. The park rangers were a little off putting. They were writing us a ticket for not having a launch pass even though we have an annual pass in our vehicle window. The lady was a little rude stating it needs to have one on the trailer too even though their instructions on their board said it goes in the window of the towing vehicle. Just kind of frustrating when you pay a lot to camp, a lot to launch your boat. A lot in license fees to fish and then they try and ticket you for following their instructions, without even a question.

Plan ahead. No drinking water at campground. There is a pit toilet, dumpster and boat ramp. No real beach area but a small area to splash in the river. Fire ban in effect now so check online to see if it is lifted. Great little campground with all 8 sites reservable.

This is a gorgeous campground! Somehow we ended up here when it was otherwise deserted. The restroom isn't the cleanest but it's a great place with a gorgeous view.

Pit toilet and garbage situation was a little iffy, other than that the campgroubd was pretty chill.
