About Evans Group Camp

Evans Group Camp, along the northern shoreline of Lake Roosevelt, is the most northern campground on the lake that can be reserved. The site is long and narrow, an orientation that allows for a fantastic, clear view of the lake from every vantage point. There is one group campsite that can accommodate one group of up to 25 people at a time. Lake Roosevelt is a 130-mile lake on the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. Named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt, it is part of the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and managed by the National Park Service.

What Guests Are Saying

The camp hosts received high praise for their hospitality. However, the campground's condition has declined over the past decade, with concerns about the maintenance of facilities, particularly the outhouse at the boat ramp and the absence of outdoor showers. The reviews suggest that the park service needs to improve overall upkeep to ensure visitor safety and satisfaction.

The camp hosts were just amazing. The campground however, has gone down hill in the last 10 years. We told the cleaning crew the outhouse at the boat ramp needed to be pumped out. It is about 12 inches from being full. They posted a sign saying it was closed due to being full. Two park rangers looked inside and removed the sign. It will become a health hazard soon.
There are no outdoor showers to wash off after swimming. The area is well known for "swimmers itch". Three years or so ago there was a shower to wash off. It was turned off then removed. The park service needs to pay more attention to the material condition of the parks before no one visits them anymore.
