About Kamloops Island Campground

Kamloops Island is a small, shady campground at the mouth of the Kettle River. The main hub of campsites is tucked into the vegetation at the top and can fit tents and RVs. A cluster of walk-in tent sites is spread out in a grove of pines. Many campsites offer views of the river, lake, and surrounding landscape. There is a courtesy dock, but no boat launch.

Nice campground. Good access to Lake Roosevelt at a few different spots. Wish I could have had a campfire but given the current weather conditions I understand. Would recommend this site to others, road noise was not an issue for me.

Quiet at site #3. Short walk gets you to the rope swing and down to the river by the bridge where there was lots of activitygoing on. It was hot. You can get to water off the back side of the site, but it's pretty steep.

Neighboring sites kids kept running through our campsite and one of the groups staying at the walk in site was parting all night and blasting music and yelling till about 3:00 AM

Gorgeous campground, some road noise from Hwy 395 but it died down later in the evening. Apple Maps users beware, you may be navigated nearly twenty miles in the wrong direction if the map pulls the address from your reservation email. Would camp here again.

Very out of the way, just me and one other camper on site. The view is very nice. There was some logging truck traffic that was noisey, but I think that is seasonal. Bathrooms were smelly. The cost is very reasonable.
