About Snag Cove Campground

Snag Cove is a small, fairly isolated campground located on the western side of Lake Roosevelt. Eight out of the nine sites are on the lake shore and all sites are open to tents and RVs. A boat launch with trailer parking and courtesy dock frames one side of the campground. Because of its size and popularity, Snag Cove often fills in the summer.

What Guests Are Saying

Snag Cove Campground offers beautiful views and a quaint atmosphere right by the water, making it a nice spot for camping. However, some visitors noted that upkeep has declined, with pine needles and debris present, and the campground can be noisy due to nearby highway traffic. Additionally, there are issues with bugs and campsite proximity, but the outhouses are clean and well-stocked.

Nice campground. However the upkeep of the campground isn’t as nice as they use to be. They used to clear all the pine needles from the asphalt and the camping areas. Layers of pine needles and pinecones are all over the campground. Not a huge deal, but I would think it would be less fuel for fires. Also it just makes our Federal campgrounds look like we care about aesthetics. I think it would be an awesome summer project for youth or adults. Or those sentenced to do community service.

So loud, one logging truck after another with Jake brakes blaring, stayed two nights and left 2 days early.

Lots of misquitos, flies, and wasps; while being near the water is understandable, this camp ground has significantly more than others. Highway is right next to camp ground, so you hear every vehicle every time. You might get lucky and get cell signal for a minute or two, every couple of hours. Everyone seemed to experiance this (every carrier). Campsites are so close together it feels like your neighbors are all sharing your site, two of the sites over lap with their table/firepit literally behind where you would park your RV/car! Too many other options in campgrounds out there to deal with this one. If you do want to camp here, you better like a lot of other people and bugs!

Everything was great except the fact that the boat launch wasn’t open. Water level was at the appropriate elevation and the internet even said that it should have been open. It was frustrating to have planned a trip to go fishing but wasn’t able to on the 4 days and three night trip
