About Snag Cove Campground

Snag Cove is a small, fairly isolated campground located on the western side of Lake Roosevelt. Eight out of the nine sites are on the lake shore and all sites are open to tents and RVs. A boat launch with trailer parking and courtesy dock frames one side of the campground. Because of its size and popularity, Snag Cove often fills in the summer.

What Guests Are Saying

Snag Cove Campground offers stunning views and a peaceful, small atmosphere, ideal for those who appreciate nature. While the facilities include a pit toilet and no drinking water, the campground has eight reservable sites and a boat ramp. However, the proximity to the road can result in noise, and some sites feel cramped; upkeep and insect presence are noted as areas for improvement.

This is one of my family’s favorite places to camp. The lake is close enough that it’s not hat far of a walk to go get on the boat for the day and you can wake up in the morning and watch the beautiful water with a cup of coffee.

I picked the only campsite that was available for the time period I wanted to camp. The website showed that all other sites were reserved at some point during my stay. Only 3 of the campsites were used while I was there. I was in the worst site while 10 much better campsites sat empty the 6 days I was there. The reservation system does not work. Less than half of the campsites should be available for reservations.
It is extremely frustrating.

Pit toilet was clean and well stocked with toilet paper. The entire campground was devoid of trash of any size.

This was our first stay at Snag Cove. Really beautiful spot, right on the Columbia River. We had the whole campground to ourselves for our two nights in October. Water activities are king here (not bad, just limited). Biking is not advised as the traffic on the highway the campground is on goes incredibly fast. No hiking close to camp. I'm sure biking and hiking can be found if you want to drive. We didn't have an extra vehicle.
