GeneralMora Road and Rialto Beach ConstructionIn 2019, severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River eroded the riverbank at mile post 1.25 on Mora Road. Temporary riprap was installed as an emergency measure, but a permanent fix is needed to protect long-term access to Rialto Beach. These repairs will fortify the road against continued river migration and flooding events.Between April and July 7, construction work will require a short single‑lane traffic section near milepost 1.25. The Dickey Boat Launch and trailer parking area will be closed for construction staging. No construction will occur during the Fourth of July weekend. From July 8–Oct. 5, construction crews will need to close both lanes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic beyond the Mora Campground. Rialto Beach will not be accessible via Mora Road during this construction period. Mora Campground will remain open.Visitors should consider alternative beaches, such as Ruby Beach, during the construction period. Please visit our Alerts & Conditions and Current Road Conditions pages for updates as construction dates change.

What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

Our campsite was tucked away and pretty private. Very quiet campground when we were there. The site was closer to the road than we realized, but this wasn’t an issue at night. The bathrooms could have used some cleaning, but weren’t too bad. We would definitely stay again!

Mora campground is a wonderful oasis on the Olympic Peninsula and gives the opportunity to enjoy the amazing sights in the area. It's in a rainforest so it challenges your solar panels but it's well worth the effort with the proximity to a number incredible beaches and majestic view points. High recommended.

Great place to camp. Mostly full but lots of space and good neighbors. Clean facilities and close to rialto beach. Honestly one of the prettiest campsites I've ever been to.

We enjoyed staying at this campground! The campground is very green, and in close proximity to Rialto Beach. The campsite itself is also in a good spot, it's fairly close to the restrooms but not too close that you'd get a lot of foot traffic. Unfortunately it's quite close to the campsite right behind (in loop B) — you can see that group's tent. But it still looked like one of the more private campsites.

Nice campground, woodsy vibe but close drive proximity to Rialto beach, and First, Second & Third beaches!

Our campground was flooded when we arrived there and had to camp in the car, since our tent would have been drenched. There was not a single spot that was dry to set up the tent on the whole camping patch we booked.

This is one of the best campgrounds in the state. The ranger and camp host were so friendly. It’s peaceful, quiet, full of families and nature lovers. I like the short strolls around the campground area - we saw a herd of elk in the meadow by the slough. You can walk to Rialto beach or it’s just a very short drive. Only wish is for there to be showers, but maybe it’s better without them so this campground stays the way it is!
