GeneralMora Road and Rialto Beach ConstructionIn 2019, severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River eroded the riverbank at mile post 1.25 on Mora Road. Temporary riprap was installed as an emergency measure, but a permanent fix is needed to protect long-term access to Rialto Beach. These repairs will fortify the road against continued river migration and flooding events.Between April and July 7, construction work will require a short single‑lane traffic section near milepost 1.25. The Dickey Boat Launch and trailer parking area will be closed for construction staging. No construction will occur during the Fourth of July weekend. From July 8–Oct. 5, construction crews will need to close both lanes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic beyond the Mora Campground. Rialto Beach will not be accessible via Mora Road during this construction period. Mora Campground will remain open.Visitors should consider alternative beaches, such as Ruby Beach, during the construction period. Please visit our Alerts & Conditions and Current Road Conditions pages for updates as construction dates change.

What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

Pretty campground. All sites are relatively close to a bathroom. Very close to Rialto, short drive to LA Push beaches. Lots of people selling firewood in the area. Restaurant/store down the road (that's where I got ice). Forks is about 20 minutes away for bigger needs. I loved the couple of short trails that started in the campground. I will note, there was absolutely no cell service at campground, none at Rialto, none at store down the road, I got nothing until I went down to 101. I had an emergency and needed to use a phone, luckily there is a ranger station on site and was able to use phone for emergency.

Clean restrooms. Trees offer some privacy. Paved loops are great for kids’ bikes and scooters. Great location for a short drive to Rialto Beach and tidepooling. Better option than Hoh if you want to explore multiple points of interest in Olympic National Park. We drove 1 hr to Hoh Rainforest but took an additional 1.5 hours to get in due to congestion and only one lane at the entrance. I can’t imagine camping at Hoh and having to fight through that every trip back.

We had a great experience at Mira campground. We only stayed one night but it was peaceful and quiet (once one camper finished running their generator). Nice, clean bathrooms. The camp attendant was helpful and courteous. We can’t wait to return!!

Great campground. Incredible bird songs in the morning. Great bird watching on the road to Rialto Beach. Wonderful beach. Campfires permitted even when banned elsewhere. Gigantic Sitka Spruces, huge red elderberry bushes and lots of trilliums.
