Gifford Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean, spacious campsites and easy access to the lake, making it ideal for swimming and boating. Campers appreciate the well-maintained facilities, friendly hosts, and stunning sunsets, while enjoying a peaceful atmosphere, especially during off-peak times. When we arrived at our reserved site, there was a boat and trailer parked in our site. We waited about a half hour in 100 degree heat for a car to return to move the boat. They thought that since the site was empty it wasn't reserved so they took off to drive to a place with cell service to reserve the site on-line. This is a dumb system. There should be a way to show reserved sites at the site, like the Forest Service puts reserved tags on the posts. There is a host at the campground that could do this.
With the very hot conditions, it seemed like every RV in the campground was running a generator. Most everyone complied with the 10 pm shut down requirement.

Over all an okay site. The ferry running all day made a lot of noise and close proximity to the highway, giving it an “industrial area” feel. Bathrooms where pretty far apart. Camping Sites really close together. It was clean though. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.

Good campground right on the lake. The camp host greeted us within a few minutes of our arrival and was helpful. Most spots are fairly close together but some have enough space to not feel like your completely eavesdropping on your neighbors’ conversations, or visa versa. Not a problem though as the campground was quiet after 9:30/10:00 both nights. Enough trees throughout the grounds to provide some shade. The view from the water-side spots is great! Most spots were fairly level on asphalt pad, but we didn’t really care for how they were mounded up. And since they are just barely wide enough for the trailer, we were pretty much walking down a slope for about 10-15 feet to get a more level area to set up chairs, therefore sitting under our trailer awning was not really possible. We did like the easy access to both boat launch area and boat docks for getting into our kayak.

always winding and not enough dock space and a poor dock system. need more docks and a way to break the wind so the dock does not beat up your boat. the campground could be taking better care of. put gravel down around the campfire pits, rake up the campsites and clean up where the dead trees have been cut up. cost is now 23 per night and no improvements have been made.
