What Guests Are Saying
Gifford Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with spacious sites and easy access to the water, making it a favorite for many campers. Visitors appreciate the clean restrooms, friendly hosts, and the campground's quiet atmosphere, especially during off-peak seasons. However, some reviews mention concerns about the closeness of campsites, noise from neighboring campers, and rising fees for services like water and dump stations. Overall, it remains a highly recommended spot for relaxation and outdoor activities like kayaking.

Sites seemed very small for RV’s. Steep slopes on both sides of sites making it difficult to enter/exit RV. No dumpster for trash. Bathroom was out of TP.
Beautiful view, relaxing location, just not a lot of room.

We stayed 3 nights in the off season. We had a lot more space to ourselves because of the time of year which we really enjoyed. We didn’t see much for wild life but we could hear them moving about at night. We found the tracks of many different things on the beach. It was really enjoyed. We would have loved to be able to have a campfire but considering that it was still really dry for the time of year, fire safety was more important.

Quiet, clean campground right next to the water. I stayed in site number 1, which is the closest to the boat launch and was not bothered at all by any boat trailer traffic, but it is minimal this time of year. Comfortable days and beautiful sunsets across the water make this a very nice place to be this time of year. Will be staying here again.

RV dump station was not open again, that’s why we pay to camp there, it’d be nice to know that before we reserve a site

Campground almost empty, so very quiet. Was kind of disappointed that the RV dump station and the fish cleaning stations were closed. Don't understand that. It doesn't take any employees interaction to leave these things available to campers.

Reservation process is poor. Came in several days early. Tried to make a reservation on my phone. Though I got through it would not make reservation. Called number on sheet it was a fed number that didn't take reservations. Pulling garbage cans 10 days before Oct. 1 (without warning). Every fire pit was full of garbage. Water turned off before 10/1. Unfriendly Rangers. Dock fine, roads fine. Beautiful place.

I think it’s pretty lame the dump station is closed before summer is even over! Other than that it was a nice weekend getaway

Gifford was a lovely campground to stay at in the second week of Sept. It was very quiet with not too many other campers though when we left on Friday, it was beginning to fill up. The water was still warm and people were swimming. Our site was right on the lake and it was very hot out with minimal shade so we had to sit behind the trailer next to the road. Next time, we would book a site with more shade if really hot. Our dogs loved it there-they had two swims/day and lots of walks around the campground and through the bush. There is a washroom with flush toilets and sinks but never used it. The pit toilet was closer, clean and relatively non smelly. Our only complaint would be that on Sept 9 when we checked out there was no water or Sani-dump available and no reason given. This was quite inconvenient as the next campground we were going to did not have either of these options and we were counting on them at Gifford. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay there very much.

If you are disabled make sure you get a disabled site. We didn’t and because of that it was very difficult for me to get out of the RV. The parking pad has a slope and stepping out of the RV was stepping out onto that slope. Other than that it’s a gorgeous spot on the lake to sit out and enjoy nature. Most sites seemed to have great views!
