The campground itself is very nice with the sites well spaced. However, when I arrived (site 54) the site smelled strongly of fish, and there was a huge pile of dog waste as well as hundreds of peanut shells everywhere. I kept a positive attitude and cleaned it up as best I could. The lake is beautiful, though I was there in late September when the water level was very low at the campground end of the lake near the boat launch area. Yellow jackets were still pervasive throughout the campground. There are a multitude of hiking opportunities nearby, but beware that the road heading past the campground is VERY rocky, and has areas of significant pot holes, proceed slowly and with caution. Make sure you have a spare tire, you may need it. Having said all that, the pit toilet was always clean. I still enjoyed my stay despite the initial disappointing condition of the site.

No fires due to fire restrictions, which made the bugs slightly annoying. Lake was low as it's late in the season. Had a great time though. Went kayaking and the far end of the lake is nice and deep. Was quite beautiful and seeing the stumps underwater from our kayaks, where they had cleared it to enlarge the lake was quite surreal.

We arrived the day after Labor Day. There were very few people at the campground which was exactly what I was hoping. Quiet and peaceful until Friday night. We had a wind storm come through and in the campsite behind us a tree fell, WOW! That was an experience, scary to say the least. We brought our bikes and rode all over the area. Absolutely beautiful lake.

We come to Bumping Lake every year and love it every time. The camp hosts are very kind and keep everything tidy. It's so beautiful! This was our first time in late summer so I was suprised at the lower water level, but it was just as fun and just as beautiful. Just different.
