You really couldn’t ask for a more beautiful location! The ocean view is absolutely amazing. It was disappointing that there was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms nor any kind of paper towel or hand dryer and only a trashcan part of the time. It was also disappointing that when we left for a day excursion and came back to our campsite our firewood, bottled water and sodas had all been taken. We were car camping so no tent was set up. Perhap folks didn’t realize we were coming back but either way was it not only a disappointment but very inconvenient since buying water, firewood and soda is not available once the little store at the lodge has closed for the day. Either way, I would certainly return to this campground, but would not leave any of my belongings behind.

Have been camping at Kalaloch for 70 years! Love the rugged coast, cool weather and sun in late AM through rest of day.
Enjoyed going to beaches. Ranger low tide walk and ranger talks. The whale talk was ex excellent.

This was a lovely campground. We could hear the waves from our campsite, which was so calming. Neighbors were polite, and the rangers and volunteers were so wonderful. We had a great camping trip.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- The Kalaloch Ranger Station offers information during summer; contact them for hours.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Fees & deposits
- A valid Olympic National Park pass is required for camping and recreation at Kalaloch. The Washington State Park Discover Pass is not accepted.
Safety & rules
- There is a 7-day maximum stay limit during the reservation season, and a collective 21-day limit for all Olympic National Park campgrounds. Kalaloch is open year-round on a first-come, first-serve basis outside the reservation season.
- Use caution when swimming due to drifting logs; do not play on beach logs, especially during high tide.
- Always check tide charts when hiking; some areas may be impassable at high tide.
- Riptides are common; swimming is at your own risk.
Site capacity
- Most sites at Kalaloch cannot accommodate large RVs or trailers; check site details before reserving.
Vehicles & parking
- One RV and one tow vehicle are allowed per site if they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
- A maximum of two passenger vehicles is allowed per site, provided they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
General
- Campsites with ocean views fill quickly; book early. Outside of the reservation season, Kalaloch campground is open year round on a first-come, first-served basis (weather permitting).

- Campground roads are narrow with low branches; large RVs and trailers may have difficulty accessing campsites.
Fires & fuel
- Gathering wood is prohibited; firewood can be purchased at Kalaloch Lodge nearby.
- Do not move firewood; obtain it at your destination to protect forests from pests.
