PROS
* Check-in was easy.
* Facilities were close by and cleaned daily
* Sites are well spaced out
* Vehicle is not covered by trees so you don't have to worry about constant dripping from the trees after rain
CONS
* Site F004 is NOT for tent camping. Not enough level ground to set up a tent.
* We had a roof top tent which was also a bit tight when folded out.
* It also rained most of the time we were there and water does pool up on site (although does dissipate soon after it stops raining).
* No T-Mobile coverage on site (assuming because of trees) but if you go down to the beach you'll get 2 bars

We loved our stay at Kalaloch! Our camp site was spacious and it was a short walk to the beach. There was a bit of a walk to the bathroom though. And the closest bathroom did not have a water faucet so that made it a challenge to refill our water jugs. It would be so nice to add showers. I’d be willing to pay extra per night to have showers added. My only other complaint is that the highway noise on 101 can get loud at night if you’re camped close. I really hope they think about expanding the campground in the future. It’s so competitive to get a spot! But we’re glad we were able to. Otherwise amazing beach and camp ground! I can’t wait to go back!

This is a very special spot! The beach is beautiful and the campground is very quiet, except for some noise from 101 for campsites closer to the road.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- The Kalaloch Ranger Station offers information during summer; contact them for hours.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Fees & deposits
- A valid Olympic National Park pass is required for camping and recreation at Kalaloch. The Washington State Park Discover Pass is not accepted.
Safety & rules
- There is a 7-day maximum stay limit during the reservation season, and a collective 21-day limit for all Olympic National Park campgrounds. Kalaloch is open year-round on a first-come, first-serve basis outside the reservation season.
- Use caution when swimming due to drifting logs; do not play on beach logs, especially during high tide.
- Always check tide charts when hiking; some areas may be impassable at high tide.
- Riptides are common; swimming is at your own risk.
Site capacity
- Most sites at Kalaloch cannot accommodate large RVs or trailers; check site details before reserving.
Vehicles & parking
- One RV and one tow vehicle are allowed per site if they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
- A maximum of two passenger vehicles is allowed per site, provided they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
General
- Campsites with ocean views fill quickly; book early. Outside of the reservation season, Kalaloch campground is open year round on a first-come, first-served basis (weather permitting).

- Campground roads are narrow with low branches; large RVs and trailers may have difficulty accessing campsites.
Fires & fuel
- Gathering wood is prohibited; firewood can be purchased at Kalaloch Lodge nearby.
- Do not move firewood; obtain it at your destination to protect forests from pests.
