Nice site. Power lines close by overhead, but it's private. Only thing that would improve the experience is if there was water spigots in the campground.

American Forks is an older campground at the confluence of the American River and Bumping River. Our campsite was close to the river and had relatively good morning solar exposure. Most campsites were well spaced with adequate room between sites. The restrooms are all pit toilets as you would expect, were clean enough, and well supplied with TP.
The biggest downside of this campground is the lack of fresh water. Water can be found at one or more of the campgrounds along the Bumping River.
So all in all, this is a nice Forest Service campground on the banks of the American River with nice sites. Just remember to bring your water or be ready to pump it at a different campground and bring it back to American Forks.

We had a wonderful time and the ranger that was there was very helpful in relocating our campsite nearer our friends as my husband just had back surgery and could not walk very far.
