The campground was clean and the outhouse was not in bad condition. There was a campsite that had a fire but the ranger drove through shortly after and im assuming told them to put it out as we are in a fire ban. There are a lot of bees, which if you leave them alone they don't bother you, but it was a lot. We had to throw some meat off to the side to get them to leave us alone. OFF spray didnt seem to help either. Overall it was beautiful and a great time away from the city.

Camp sites #4 and #5 are my favorite. Personal access along the River. Lots of privacy! Only a slight issue was We reserved a Wednesday-Friday. The wed site says Friday and Saturday are First come First serve, so we just planned on staying since we would be their “first”. When we arrived it said the sites were reserved Friday and Saturday night to someone else so we had to walk around to the other side of the river and find an available Campsite. Most were taken, got lucky and found 1 site, but half our party had to pack up and go home due to limited space. My suggestion is to always call in your reservation and make sure.

The site we chose, #17, was supposed to be the last one at the end of this spur. We we got to the site, another had been added which not on the map when we made the reservation; our reservations are always based on the map rec.gov provides and given we are often not familiar with the campsite we choose even that is chancy at best. Our site so small we had the choice or either putting up the tent or parking the truck, but not both. This was completely unacceptable so we left. Rec.gov needs to do a much better job with their maps and provide pictures of each site so the camper can make a better choice - but this is a government agency and that suggestion will more than likely fall on deaf ears.
