What Guests Are Saying
Pleasant Valley Campground is a quiet, clean, and beautiful location near the American River, offering spacious and private campsites with excellent river access and wildlife sightings. While some sites have issues with ants and downed trees, the overall experience is positive, with exceptionally clean bathrooms and a helpful camp host. Many guests enjoyed the serene atmosphere and plan to return, despite some concerns about ants and the need for maintenance.

We enjoyed our stay. Campground had been cleared out after the winter. Facilities were in good shape. We'd definitely go back.

Campground was clean, foragable, camp host was generous and helpful. Beautiful scenery along the American River, dense forest with clear signs of wildlife and many birds. Secluded, calm, all facilities stocked and working properly.

Clean bathrooms, good campsite just by the American river. Ants were present but didn't bother us.

Beautiful and quiet campground. We were next to the river and enjoyed. There’s a nice trail that is part of the campground that is stroller and wheel chair accessible. The campground could use some TLC but overall a lovely spot.

we enjoyed our campsite very much. All the campsites are spread apart so you have privacy and are all in nice condition. Our campsite was by the American River with a small meadow between us. We saw lots of humingbirds and chipmunk and other birds. The fighter jets was pass over us atlest once a day, fun to see. There are lots of ant mounds around but was not bothered by ants and misqutoes were not bad either. We had a relaxing 4 days here and will go back

Beautiful campsite, will 100% be back! Room for 2, maybe even 3 tents depending on size. Easy access to river down below. Ants were present but not an issue as others stated. Will definitely be back here next summer! No cell service.

There were signs warning of high danger for fires so no campfires. There were a number of people having a camp fire at this campground. Overall the campsite was beautiful with great views of the mountains.

Be aware there are Thatcher ants in this campground. It is a beautiful area, but there are giant anthills dotting the campground. Tent campers especially need to be aware since bites can be very harmful to humans and pets. PLEASE stay away from the anthills. |
