The ants are still bad there (and they bite), but the setting is great. Excellent river access and trails to explore. Quiet during the beginning of the week. Nice host.

The campsite was clean. It was nice to have a host that came through and checked on people and give a pass for free parking at day use sites. We did not use the pass but it was great to have it just in case. We have been to a day use area before and just needed to use the restroom and it was somewhat of a production to do it without having to pay.
The bathrooms were very pleasantly, ECEPTIONALLY clean. What a change from some of the other campground bathrooms where we have stayed. The clean bathrooms were probably the biggest and best thing we noticed about Pleasant Valley Campground.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Close to the American river with some of the campsites having river views. Lots of chipmunks running about and have even seen deer on occasions. It’s just a short 15 minute drive up to Naches peek and 15 min drive in the other direction to Whistling jacks for gas or snacks. There are lots of downed trees this year which has made a mess of some of the campsites unfortunately. But it’s still a lovely place. The bathrooms are not getting cleaned this year which is unfortunate. But I’m the past it was never an issue. Hopefully next year that gets worked out.

Stayed over the 4th of July weekend, it was quiet and peaceful. The pit toilets were extremely clean, camp host, even though was at a different camp ground, was friendly and welcoming. Perfect getaway.

Great campground we've been coming to for 65+ years. Host didn't post that our site was reserved so had to ask someone to move. We made the reservation 6 months in advance so that wasn't a plus. Other than that it was a good experience.

The ants made this campground uninhabitable. We had to find another campground last minute after arriving and realizing the ants were absolutely everywhere. There was no avoiding them.

Pleasant Valley is one of our favorite National Forest campgrounds.
It is a quiet location with an extraordinary view of the national forest.
It is primitive; no power, water or sewer hookups. There is a hand pumped water well in the park and vault toilets.
The only negative; there is an abundance of Thatcher ants! Don't walk around barefoot.
There is a nature trail at the entrance to the campground and we look forward to walking and riding it each year with the grandkids. This year numerous trees had fallen over the trail and it was inaccessible. We visited the second week of July and were surprised and disappointed to find that these trees had not been cleared from the trail. Hopefully this will get done soon. We did notice an excessive number of fallen and dead trees in the area, and many marked for removal. This may account for the trail closure.

Policies & Rules
General
- Be aware there are Thatcher ants in this campground. It is a beautiful area, but there are giant anthills dotting the campground. Tent campers especially need to be aware since bites can be very harmful to humans and pets. PLEASE stay away from the anthills.
- Single site fees include 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle. Any additional vehicles are subject to an extra vehicle fee on-site, space permitting.
- Off-road vehicle use prohibited in campground

- Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination. - Water is available in this location via a handpump and/or water spigot. Please DO NOT attach your RV hoses to the water systems we provide. These are made available to you to fill your water jugs/buckets and take back to your site to use. If you need to fill your RV water tanks, please fill your tank before you come to the campground. Thank you!
- Firewood is available for sale at host site for $10.00/bundle.
