What Guests Are Saying
Windy Point Campground offers a pleasant experience with spacious campsites, beautiful river views, and clean facilities. Many visitors enjoyed the warm, swimmable river and the proximity to hiking trails. However, some noted noise from the nearby highway and a few logistical issues, such as reservation misunderstandings and limited shade in certain areas. Overall, the campground's cleanliness and scenic surroundings make it a favorable choice for campers.

Great stop by a fabulous river on our way to Mt. Rainier. We sat right by the rushing water of the river and we could just feel the stress of driving out west from Mississippi melt away.
Thanks for marking our site with our name and dates. It was nice to see that.
The site was level and easy to back into. There was no cell or TV signal, but that was the point.
Thanks!

Camp site 10 & 11 are so close they are almost one campsite and there is no defining the line between them. The wasps were horrible. The river was great to be close to and hear as it muffled the road.

Nice spot with lots of sun and shade. Parking is wide enough for a 10x10 tent and the vehicle with plenty of walking space. Short walking distance to the river.

We had a great experience here, with a wonderful spot by the river (a must). The water was warm and swimmable in July- warmer than other rivers across Washington. It is pretty swift so I would think it would be a lot of fun with a kayak or a tube if you are experienced. We didn't notice pests.
The only problem is that you are right on a busy highway with loud trucks barreling by all night long. That was an issue.
Still, this is very close to town, we ran into Yakima one day, less than 30 minutes, Naches 15 min. Hiking in Nearby Bears Canyon was great.
The campground is primitive with no water, no host, and pit toilets. But the bathrooms were very clean and the entire place was clean.
Site 12 has its own trail to the river. other best sites are 11, 10, 9, 6, 4.

Very nice and quiet weekend. Not much shade because of the fire but the campground and restrooms were clean. Will camp here again.
