What Guests Are Saying
Windy Point Campground offers a pleasant experience with spacious campsites, beautiful river views, and clean facilities. Many visitors enjoyed the warm, swimmable river and the proximity to hiking trails. However, some noted noise from the nearby highway and a few logistical issues, such as reservation misunderstandings and limited shade in certain areas. Overall, the campground's cleanliness and scenic surroundings make it a favorable choice for campers.

The surrounding landscape in the valley is why we came. The river and the columnar basalt canyon walls were breathtaking. Though the campground was rustic, we were pleased with how they were maintained. Windy point is a wonderful place to camp and our experience was fantastic overall.

Lovely and very large campsite right on the river. We were there in August and it was HOT. We took our camp chairs and sat in the river. There is road noise because the campground is right off the highway. My only real complaint is of the denizens of previous low-brow campers who left all manner of junk behind (including a dirty diaper thrown into the woods). Come on, people, this is America! There are large dumpsters a very short walk away right in the campground but apparently it is more convenient for some cretins to just leave it on the ground.

Filthy toilet/outhouses! The site I reserved had nowhere to set up tent without tree roots or large lumps of ground. Had to set it up where the car would park. Looked like a place where people choose to party on the weekends. Trash everywhere. Wasn't impressed at all.

Great little campground that’s right off the hwy. Vault bathrooms were clean and stocked. Sites were spaced out enough you didn’t really hear or see others. Spots along the river had nice views. Spot 4 was the best as it was huge with nice little beach area. Hikes nearby were good and not crowded.

It looks like rock climbing nearby. The campground was quiet and so very beautiful. Our favorite place so far this summer.

This is a small campground but the sites are decently spaced. I would recommend this to families with children as the river that runs past has lots of areas shallow enough for small children although the current is swift. The campsite is located close enough to Naches to get supplies and Yakima is just a bit further (35 minutes) away. Choose the sites closest to the river as the ones not on the river face a busy highway and are not as shaded. As an extra treat, there is a small waterfall across the river from site 9.

I already submitted a review, but forgot to comment about the great cell service! We were surprised and anticipated being “disconnected” for a few days and disappointed just a little ;-). It’s great for emergencies and good to know we can call out or receive calls as needed. Thank you!

We camped at our favorite campsite. With exception if the occasional whiff of the bathroom, our stay was great! Thankful for the camp host who kept the campground and facilities clean. No overflowing dumpsters! We enjoy camping here and will visit again!

We arrived around 3:00 pm and the site that we reserved was not the site we expected. When I booked the reservation, it was site 5 with pic showing by the river. It was basically the pic that was across from site 5. Site 5 was not even large enough for our family of 7. The host was supposed to be at site 14, but was not there. There was nothing at the host site. No tent or RV. It stated on the sign that host was to be at site 14 and was not there. I called the number to see of I could cancel, but there was a long wait. I was able too contact the managment company and spoke to a man who said he was not able to help because he was in California. We went to another campsite. I would like a refund.
