What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

Our family loves camping at La Wis Wis. The hosts this year were friendly, enjoyed chatted with our kids, and kept the bathrooms clean and stocked with t.p. They also took the time to offer us help to put our fire out when we were packing up. From the D loop it took us about 30 minutes to walk to the blue hole. It’s worth it! Water is freezing, but it’s still fun.
No water this year, but Packwood is a 10 min drive for cell service & water
Site H11 can accommodate a small tent and there is parking for a trailer/rv. Our 20x20 tent did not fit. We paid for a FF spot in the D loop & requested a refund through the app. The H loop is perfect for small to medium RVs. I love the ease of walking to the blue hole.

My stay was nine days and eight nights. Beautiful weather, but no water. All if the hydrant spigots have been removed due to benzene toxicity in the water source(s). DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. This toxin causes cancer. Banton's Market in Packwood, has a water machine, and they sell water. Firewood on-site. $10 a bundle. Honor system in place. The Chevron in Packwood ran out of firewood, and the 76 ran low. Hosts were helpful, and patrolling.

We will definitely be back to this beautiful location outside Mount Rainier National Park.

We stayed in H 11. Just a pull off on the loop for your trailer but good private fire pit/picnic area. We had 24’ travel trailer and had no problem but the two other sites adjacent (they are part of the same pull off in a row) were empty so space was not an issue. Each sites parking area is not marked off as far as how much parking length belongs to you, so if you have an un courteous neighbor or you are last to arrive it could be an issue to fit. We were 45’ total. Heavily wooded campground that is really beautiful and when we visited early June it was almost completely empty. There are nicer sites in the other loops but not for big rigs.

One of the most gorgeous, relaxing campgrounds we've been to. Loved being right next to the river. The campground staff are friendly and helpful. Each campsite sign had a sweet, welcoming little message from staff.
Mt. Rainier NP is a (relatively) quick drive away, highly recommended!

Our family had a great time at La Wis Wis. It was Memorial Day weekend so it was very busy and I think it was even more busy than usual as Ohanapecosh was closed for the year. Overall we had a great time. My girls loved exploring and walking to the river. The bathroom on the D loop is not a nice as some of the others. One night we did hear music playing very late into the night as we were trying to sleep. Otherwise, great trip!
