What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

We loved this campground. Great hosts, no wifi, and the site itself is very large. The camp spots are small, but very clean. The bathrooms were very clean and there were lots of them. No running water for camping use but that's not a big deal for us. About a 10 minute drive to Packwood. We had 27A which was on the river. 26A has a shore line you can walk down to and the trial to the river is located next to that. Some of the best sites on the river are 23A, 16A, D18, D20, D23, D27. From the picnic shelter area it's about a 10 minute walk to the "blue hole". You can camp over there too in the area called The Hatchery. There you have beach access and the swimming hole. The rest of the water around this site is fairly rapid.

Can’t give it more than three stars this time. It would be nice if the hosts patrolled at 10 pm quiet time to ensure that large groups are not cranking music for parties until 1 am. It was also inconvenient that the water wasn’t working and kinda crazy that it was only considered a $4 daily inconvenience.

Great experience, had an awesome campsite with easy river access. Toilets were very clean, camp hosts were wonderful. No water, but we came prepared. My only complaint was other campers playing loud music all day and into the night.

Campground is well-maintained. There was no potable water available at the entire campground during our visit but fortunately we had our 5-gallon water container that we filled at Ohanapecosh campground down the road. Giving this site a 2-star rating as the strong privy smell definitely wafts through the site's picnic table area depending which way the wind blows regardless if the toilet seats are closed. Definitely made mealtime less appetizing :-(

camp grounds were smaller than anticipated but we made the best of it. camp host made us feel welcomed. Not ideal if you like to play loud music as this campground is a little more on the intimate side. amazing views and access to the river!
