What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

A $35 fee should not be charged when a campground is without any source of fresh, potable water. To our surprise, all bathrooms were closed and no water spigots were functional when we arrived for our stay. Recreation.gov had my contact information and should have informed all reservation holders of this issue in advance. Had we been told about the lack of basic services we would have cancelled our stay. I believe Recreation.gov and/or the campground concession should be providing full refunds.

No running water and was not told before we arrived.

Beautiful location with a great grove of old trees and very quiet. That said, the campground needs maintenance. Some outhouses were boarded up. The water system was not working. No campground host while we were there. And, while acknowledging it was just after summer, the amount of small detritus (plastic, foil, small garbage) really showed a lack of anyone taking care of the place.

Quiet, beautiful location. Ohanapecosh River was nearby and got water from there. Drinking water was off, but we took enough bottled water. Mount Rainier NP was close and other beautiful locations, hot springs, and waterfalls. We camped in the middle of the rainforest. Highly recommended!

The campsite is gorgeous and smells wonderful.
It takes a little bit to get to the center of the park from the site, but the drive is beautiful.

Our campsite was great, the campground was well maintained, and the pit toilets were clean.

Our campsite next to the river was excellent. The bathroom was mostly clean. However, there was no drinking water. We knew about this beforehand so it wasn’t an inconvenience. I hope I can reserve that same site again next year.

La Wis Wis is a favorite campground. We love the coming together of 2 rivers and being able to camp by the river. It also close to the Naches Peak trail and the patriarchs. Having Packwood close by is great too. Some bathrooms have been upgrade recently. The group campgrounds are great too!
