We reserved walk-in site 048 for a Sunday and Monday stay. It is a spacious site with a massive picnic table, barbecue pit, and gravel. The walk-in sites are close to the parking lot, less than a minute walk when lugging gear, and have limited lake views. The map on recreation.gov does is approximate, there are two short paved paths from the parking lot to the sites, sites 047-052 and the yurts are on the path to the right.

Lake Wynoochee is beautiful, its large day use area (rocky beach, water not too cold) was busy when we arrived on Sunday but very quiet Monday. The camp host was friendly and helpful—he dropped candy off for our young daughter in the evening when we purchased firewood and recommended several nearby hikes. Overall, it was a remote, quiet, family-friendly stay.

One thing to keep in mind: if you are planning on visiting the coast or Hoh rain forest, this campsite is 2 hours from Ruby Beach and 2.5 hours from Hoh.

This campground is well cared for. The bathrooms were clean. Stocked with hand soap and paper towels. Camp sites are large and well spaced.

nice quiet campground with enough room between campsites for relative privacy. Situated above the lake, not easy lake access unless you hike down and then back up to the camp site.

It was disappointing to not see many people wearing masks during the pandemic, not even the employees. Beyond that, it is a lovely campsite with great clean bathrooms. Will stay here again once the need for coverings is not needed.

Our site was well maintained and our 30’ travel trailer fit very easily. The photos on the website were extremely helpful when we made our reservation. The site was actually larger than the photos showed. Only negative was that we had to be escorted to the dump station by the campground host because there was something broken on the water system. He had to be there to make sure the water got turned off. The campground host was extremely accommodating and friendly. Having to pay $5 to dump seemed a little petty especially since we had been there for 3 nights. All in all a great place to camp.

Great campground for families & great yurt! Space was clean & tidy. Lots of room between yurts & tent spaces. Yet people did not adhere to curfew hours & you could hear noisy campers from afar. Also wandering in the dark being noisy too, which can be a bit scary if you dont know its people & you think its a wild animal. ;)

Loved the whole experience! Except for the trip there. Careful using Waze from the East (Shelton/Belfair) . It took us on some old very very rough Forest Service road #23 through some very rough and sometimes quite unnerving terrain and I used to off road a lot. We could've turned around "before" it became one narrow lane but we decided to continue. If it says "may have unpaved roads" I would seriously look for an alternate path!
Lesson learned.
The bathrooms were super nice. The staff was super nice. The sites were fairly private, more than most.
We kayaked, fished and road bikes. Didn't catch anything. Not even a nibble.
Great fun. Really nice place.
They had wood and ice on site. They drive around and basically take your order.
The nearest store is 45min away.

I stayed in one of the walk-in sites (#48) for 2 nights (7/17-7/19) and it was a great experience. I like the walk-in campsites because they are more private and you are closer to the lake. Site #48 was perfect because it was only a couple sites down from the bathrooms and you were off the path enough to not be woken up by passing guests. The picnic table is very large which was convenient. The hosts were extremely nice and answered our questions about directions as well as delivered fresh wood to our campsite. We also bought ice from them. The walk-in sites are right next to the path that takes you down to the swimming area of the lake. The water was cold, but it was a hot day and there were a lot of people swimming. There were mosquitos at night, so do not forget to bring bug spray!
