This campground has be ry nice well-sited and private-feeling camping sites. We enjoyed the quiet and the dark sky. The restrooms were very clean and well maintained. Thanks!

This is one of the most beautiful, spacious, and clean campgrounds that we have ever visited. I highly recommend it.

Camp hosts did a wonderful job maintaining the campground. Bathrooms were clean and trash was picked up regularly.

We had a wonderful time. It was September when we camped so it was warm. Luckily we were able to open the screens and brought our fan. Beds were comfortable, kayaks were safe docked behind the yurt. We had yurt 57. Great idea bringing a small garden wagon to carry our stuff as the parking lot was a ways away. Definitely will go it again.

If you interpret the phrase “group site” as meaning a spot that several of your friends and you can camp at, forget about Cofo campground and site 40. It is a joke of a campsite, a terrible sad joke. It sits right on the same property as the community privy and has a slightly larger area for parked vehicles but literally nowhere to pitch a tent, much less 3-6 tents. It is a complete joke and recreation.gov should be ashamed of selling permits for this pathetic site. Even the host knows it but luckily was able to accommodate our group by steering us to a couple of other sites that were luckily open. Seriously, BEWARE GROUP SITE RESERVATIONS AT COHO CAMPGROUND. They really suck.

Site #31
Amazingly peaceful place to camp and kayak. No road noise or light pollution made you feel like you were truly in the wilderness. The sites are roomy for parking. Most can easily accommodate more than two vehicles. Site #40 can hold three rows of vehicles, but backs up to the bathrooms--so probably best for folks with small kids who have to "go" in the night. I thought the pull through spots were on the smaller side. Lots of paved area for kids to ride bikes/skateboard. lakeside camping spots are on a bluff, with a steep narrow trail crosscutting to get down tot he lake. This is far away from stores or cell coverage--about 27 miles. There is a great swim area and picnic area. Lots of grassy space. Also, the camp host had posted they have ice (?) There is also a payphone near the day use entrance. There were open spots, but I was there during the week after Labor Day.

Lovely campground with a mystical aspect among the forest and the strewn pieces of wood. Some of the campsites had a nice view of the lake and there were a few nature hikes directly off of the campground itself. Campsites were all very spacious and family friendly. Nearby restroom facilities were clean.
