Amazingly peaceful place to camp and kayak. No road noise or light pollution made you feel like you were truly in the wilderness. The sites are roomy for parking. Most can easily accommodate more than two vehicles. Site #40 can hold three rows of vehicles, but backs up to the bathrooms--so probably best for folks with small kids who have to "go" in the night. I thought the pull through spots were on the smaller side. Lots of paved area for kids to ride bikes/skateboard. lakeside camping spots are on a bluff, with a steep narrow trail crosscutting to get down tot he lake. This is far away from stores or cell coverage--about 27 miles. There is a great swim area and picnic area. Lots of grassy space. Also, the camp host had posted they have ice (?) There is also a payphone near the day use entrance. There were open spots, but I was there during the week after Labor Day.

Lovely campground with a mystical aspect among the forest and the strewn pieces of wood. Some of the campsites had a nice view of the lake and there were a few nature hikes directly off of the campground itself. Campsites were all very spacious and family friendly. Nearby restroom facilities were clean.

Loved this campground. Each site offered just the right amount of privacy. The proximity to the lake and shared services was greatly appreciated. Campground host was very friendly and welcoming.
I will definitely come back for a longer stay.

The campground was very pretty. The lake level was low very, so we didn't go swimming. It seems like a great place if you have an RV or camper. There are lots of cool paved trails between the sites, and to the bathrooms. The bathrooms are nice with flush toilets. Great place for kids to ride bikes on trails. The reason I only gave it three stars was because the campsite was covered in small sharp rocks. There wasn't any place to put a tent, except on the sharp rocks. We walked around the two campsite loops, and pretty much all of them were covered in small sharp rocks. Not very comfortable for tents or bare feet. An alternate ground cover that would be ok for a tent would be pea gravel, wood chips, or the natural forest bed. We had booked two nights and only stayed one.

From Route 12 via Montesano: Turn north on Wynoochee Valley Road, 1 mile west of Montesano. Drive 35 miles on Wynoochee Valley Road and Forest Road 22 to a major intersection. Turn left to stay on FR-22. Drive a short distance and turn right on Forest Road 2294. Drive 1 mile to the campground.
Coho Campground is accessible via Route 12, approximately 25 miles to the south. Access to Wynoochee Valley Road is available from Route 12.

Policies & Rules
General
- No commercial services available at Wynoochee Lake or Coho Campground; motorists should have sufficient fuel for the return trip.
- Reservation covers two licensed passenger vehicles and a maximum of 5 people at standard nonelectric sites; two vehicles includes any combination of passenger cars, trucks and/or recreational vehicles (boats and recreational trailers are not considered passenger vehicles); additional vehicles are $5/day to be paid within 30 minutes of arrival.
- Boat launch fee is $5; weekend boat launch permit is $5.
