Iron Creek Campground is praised for its beautiful setting among old-growth trees and proximity to the Cispus River, providing a tranquil and scenic experience. Campers appreciate the well-maintained facilities, clean restrooms, and spacious, private campsites. However, access to the campground can be challenging due to road conditions and closures, which some visitors found frustrating.

We had a wonderful experience at Iron Creek and can’t wait to come back. Even during a busy holiday weekend the campground was quiet at night, and we could faintly hear the river from our site. Our site was small and barely fit two tents, but set back nicely for privacy. We strolled around the campground and found great sites almost everywhere. I wouldn’t recommend A loop - the area is recovering after the fire and felt desolate compared to the rest of the gorgeous campground.

We’ve been visiting Iron Creek & the National Forest for years. We often go over the 4th of July to get our dogs away from fireworks. It’s become popular in the past few years, but it still serves the purpose. FS road 25 was closed this time but the forest service office had put out printed directions for the detour even though the office itself was closed because so many visitors were new to the area. Very thoughtful, thank you to the rangers!

We went on Monday and left on Friday so missed weekend traffic problems. The park was nearly empty and very quiet. We loved the trails and exploring the local area.

Nice camp sites. Friendly camp host. No cell service, just the way we like it.

Excellent dog friendly campsite with easy access to the river at several points, and beautiful forest trails within the grounds. $10 for a small bundle of wood is excessive, so make sure to bring some of your own if you can. And there aren’t many toilet blocks for the number and size of pitches/groups (loop D at least).

I totally would’ve given this campground a 5 star rating but there was no where to pay other than a self pay station that was cash only… there’s nothing anywhere when booking it’s cash only. So I drove around looking for the hosts house and couldn’t find it. I waited and waited and waited for the ranger or a host to come by but it didn’t happen till 10pm and all we got asked was “you good on firewood?” We also booked 6/27 and it wouldn’t let us book 6/28 because it was listed as first come first serve and when we got there our spot was booked. We drove 4 hours to spend less than 24 hours there. I hope there is some improvement on that for the next time we return. We will be returning as we found it was a very quiet camp and we were able to bring our dog. We could hear the river from our site and it was really lovely! It’s now a tradition we go back yearly just because of it being such a good hidden gem!

Getting to Iron Creek was a pain due to road closures but the park itself is very nice. The hosts are friendly, the hikes are easy and well-maintained. The vault toilets were not as smelly as some of the other places we've been. They were regularly maintained.

A nice quiet campground. The hosts are very kind and keep things going well. My campsite was clean and right near the river. Lots of trails and nice walks. Not really close to anything else. The bridges are out so not easy to get to the campground or Mt St Helens. All in all tho, a very pleasant rough camping experience and will go again next year when the bridge is fixed.

Great campsite with well spaced out campsites each with its own picnic table and fire pit. Lots of water taps and toilets were kept very clean and well stocked and did not smell for drop toilets. Only thing to look out for is RV and tent sites are mixed so if you are in a tent you may end up next to noisy RV generators.
