It's been sad to watch this camp ground deteriorate over the last 5 years. There used to be working water. There used to be trash service. And now it's pack-in/pack-out (which I get and respect). I'm hoping the community get keep this place beautiful and open so it doesn't get shut down.

The campground was maybe half full, or a little under so it was nice and quiet. Even if it had been full, the spots are nicely spaced, other than one group site being across from where we were, but it was empty this time. The bathrooms were clean and clearly managed as the second morning I could smell cleaner and there was always toilet paper (campers, please remember to close the lid on the vault toilets when you're done). The beach access was perfect for our toddler and even though we didn't fully swim on this trip, you could see it was a nice, gradual slope, so lots of space for little ones to get in/swim safely. Obviously no fault of the campground, but the only negative was the burn ban, so no campfires, but appreciated everyone seeming to follow the ban. No potable water was not a big deal, as we've camped in places like that before, just be prepared. In my opinion, the road is nowhere near as bad as some of the reviews make it sound. We were in a Subaru Forester, and other than a couple washout spots and potholes, it was really just fine. It does sometimes feel like driving on rumble strips for a bit, but I was expecting much, much worse. We will definitely be back with our kayaks!
