Beautiful setting with spacious sites! Pit toilets are kept clean. Some water pumps were not functional, but otherwise everything was great!

Dry campground with a good amount of space between campsites. We saw Mule Deer in the campground the first night (non weekend) and heard from other campers that there was a bear in the campground also. Warning: it is bear country so keep all food and trash inside a hard sided vehicle. Campground is large so bike riding around it is good exercise.
Get a good trail map of the area before you camp. There are lots of trails and fishing, but they are not obvious.

Camp site #49 was a good one, large flat area for the tent, good hammock trees just behind the parking space, easy stroll to the river, close to the restroom but enough distance to avoid any wafts of poo. Clean facilities and campsites.
Some confusion around campfires. Lots of signs saying NO campfires but appeared to be mostly permanent a not dependent on conditions (cold and rainy when we arrived), other signs saying NO campfires in the historic rock campfire stoves (understandable), website said no charcoal fires or wood stoves, etc. etc.. We decided to just act like adults and have a low (under the grate) and safe fire as did a few of our neighbors.
A few other random notes.
Wasps were abundant and very interested in our brats and hash browns. Beware if you have allergies to a bite.
Roads a super smooth and good for razor scooters and even skate/long boarding…and of course, bikes.
Good amount of pinks swimming up river which was fun to see.
We had a great time even though we seemed to pick the first weekend of fall rather than the last weekend of summer.

Salmon la Sac is my favorite campground in eastern WA! Heads up: there are pit toilets, and you have to use water pumps so bring a container to fill up. Also, please be mindful of fire restrictions and DO NOT have a campfire when there are numerous signs advising against it.
