Great site. It has it's own trail down to the river. We spent a lot of time down there. There was no one else on the beach when we were there. Easy back-in access. The only downside is that's its directly across from the toilets and every once in awhile we could smell them when the wind shifted.

I understand pit toilets smell but the one closest to us at site 17 was mighty smelly.

Very small campground with pit toilets; only 19 sites which is a plus. The very close by Newhalem campground is much much larger and has flush toilets. No camp host at Goodell. Sites at the western end get the pleasing sounds of the river. We would return.

The campground is beautiful. What caused us to leave early . . . only pit toilets and no showers . . . confusion about dates for season ending (we ended up with no reservation for 9/11 and only a musical chairs version of getting one). The method for vying for camp sites when the park closes is unthinkable in these crazy times. Can't imagine the contentiousness that could arise.

Highway 20 is close, but not too loud. Wonderful little area by the river where the rafting tours put in.

Other than the bathrooms, which were worse than most TH privies that we've been to, we had a fabulous time!

The sites near the water are just perfect. Lovely rushing water sounds and gorgeous views. We walked around the entire campground and all the sites seemed roomy with good tree cover. We will definitely go back
