What Guests Are Saying
Big Pines Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting along the Yakima River, with spacious sites and excellent access for river activities and nearby hiking. Guests appreciate the clean restrooms and the serene environment, ideal for birdwatching and fishing. However, some visitors noted issues with train noise, site reservation mix-ups, and a lack of privacy due to close campsite proximity.

Had I known the Yakima River Canyon was one of the most beautiful places on Earth, I would have planned more days there. As it is, I spent one glorious night on the edge of the river! I worried a bit when a train ran a few times during the day that my sleep would be disrupted, but it did not run that night. And, my spot was right next to the boat ramp so, while I enjoyed watching a few adventurers coming and going during my arrival afternoon, it was otherwise quiet. What a beautiful place! The river sounds were a lullaby that brought on a good night's rest and the hikes I took with my dog in the area, and at the river, were totally breathtaking. I highly recommend the area and these well cared for sites and amenities.

Lots of bugs, most the first night when we arrived. but other than that was great! Loved the location and was very private compared to other campgrounds nearby. There are cows at the entrance to the campground, so smells like farm but not overwhelming. Would definitely camp there again in the future.

This place is beautiful and access to the river and tall trees at the campsite makes it even better. The only issue we had was that the sites were a bit trashy. We were there on a Sunday and understand that it was the end of a weekend, but the amount of spilled food and trash at the site was a bit overwhelming. I would hope that we could all be a little better stewards of our public lands.

Big Pines has been our go to spot for years. It's a great place to camp when you are planning on floating the river for its easy pull out at the boat launch. We tend to camp on the weekdays there as it quickly fills up with the kids on the weekends. The camp hosts Dallas and Cindee were wonderful and helpful when we needed something.
