I felt unsafe, and there was trash throughout the campgrounds. There is a culture of entitlement from some long term campers - no respect for occupied campsites - people walk through your site. They set up and fish for the day right in front of your campsite. Small kids are not supervised wander into other sites and in the road, toys blocking the road.
• ***YOU MUST KEEP YOUR SITE WELL LIT*** - 2:15 AM a man with a lantern literally 2 feet from camper door looking through our stuff. How do I know it was 2 feet? - I saw the very distinct shadow of his head on our camper door window. . He had parked at the next campsite, we busted him & he fled off in his white hatchback.
• Actual worms in the shower ACTUAL round worms from someone.
• Handicap shower has no water. None.
• Shoreline - people leave trash daily. Old trash, new trash, fresh diapers daily
• Personal belongings in the showers and of course, their trash.
It has so much potential, it's a beautiful, quiet area, ruined by careless people.
The good aspects:
• Very pretty drive to the campgrounds, mowed and neat and manicured
• Camping rates are reasonable
• Locust Branch - few nicely spaced out river front campsites
• Level and paved on riverside
• Picnic table and fire ring
• Ours had electricity - some have water and electricity
• Bathhouse
• Pet friendly - dogs are on leashes
• Permanent corn hole boards
• Playground
• Volunteer camp host
• Boat ramp past campgrounds
• Both access to river and a lake
• Locked gate night

A lot of trash. Trash and used body wipes in the fire pit. No one at the front gate. Bathroom was not being well kept.
