We love the campground. It's close to our home so that's convenient. Only complaints are the road to the campground is atrocious once you turn off Rt 37 and the internet service is overpriced for the level of service provided.

There is a 2 mile road going in that is nothing but potholes - it was TERRIBLE - over 100 potholes and counting! One camper told us the road has not been fixed in over 5 years. We were very worried about our truck and RV going in and out. We have been in over 20 COE campgrounds and 18 of 20 were very good. This definitely was the worst.
They “fixed” the drainage areas but never bothered to asphalt over them, simply put rocks down. Not counting these in the pothole number.
We purchased wi-fi. First time didn’t work. Went back to store and was told they gave us wrong number. Gave us another number and was not able to connect more than once with 1 of our computers. By this time store was closed.

Staff is excellent. However, the road is a disaster and the camping area is a no wake zone and is not enforced.

While we love the campsites themselves and the hosts and office people are great the biggest issues is the road to the campground. It’s horrible!! Last year they at least put gravel in the holes but this year nothing. And the grass wasn’t cut before the holidays.

Loop 4, site 108 was on the smaller size. (32') with room to park 1 vehicle. It appeared to be the only site in loop 4 that had access to the water that wasn't a sheer drop off - so every dog walker and kayaker was in our campsite all day , in and out... no privacy or oppertunity to relax or fish. Would never reserve this site again

East Fork is a great campground! You have anything you would need there, including WiFi for a fee, Kaiaking, canoeing , very nice playgrounds in all areas, Store for most anything you may need, Amphitheater with music, singing, Church etc. nice trails, big swimming area, clean level sights with 30&50 amp sights, nice fire pits. Pet friendly campgroundsnd a BIG Plus is water and electricity on every site . Very nice ( clean) shower houses! Golf carts welcome with simple rules to follow! Only big negative thing at the present time, the last 2 miles of road going into the campground is a nightmare to try to miss the holes!! They Doha e it out for bid but may not be fixed this season☹️

I love camping at east fork campground, me and my wife when she was alive have camp there for at least 30 years but now i am thinking about cancelling my last reservation from Aug 29, 2022 - Sep 6, 2022 due to the roads being so bad, the pot holes are so bad that it is not worth destroying our vehicles and campers, there's so many fellow campers did not come back this year because of the road. so i'm not sure if i will be back because of the road.

Pros: We love camping here. It's close to home & allows us to work while still enjoying camping in the evenings and weekends. The staff & volunteers are great.
Cons: (1) The roads are HORRIBLE!!! We spend so much money on tow vehicles campers to have to drive on a road in the condition like it is. We've been told for 3 years now that it's getting fixed only to get excuse after excuse. (2) Another issue is how the grass isn't kept up with. When they did cut it, it was just a huge mess, full of piles of grass. (3) Our hot didn't clean out the firepit or clean our spot off prior to us arriving. Firepit had trash in it & the parking pad was covered in geese crap.
Hopefully the roads are fixed & requirements of the hosts are followed up on.

Only recommendations I have is to fix the road. It’s terrible. And get better WiFi. Other than that, it’s a perfect place to camp.

This is a very remote campground with over 9 miles of potholes & one mudslide area to navigate just to get to the campsites. When we left, it took us over 30 minutes to go 2 miles just because you can’t avoid the deep potholes. There is no phone or internet service although I guess you can buy some sort of booster card at the store. The river is a nasty, muddy mess. Actual campsites are very nice, but this is the only redeeming factor. The campground is 20
Miles from the nearest town. We went there hoping to explore some of West Virginia using this as our base. No way. There were flash flood warnings while we were there &, without phone or internet, we were very uncomfortable. We ended up leaving 3 days early. I would not recommend this facility. This is the first COE campground that was not extremely nice. I must say the people at the gate were very nice & refunded the money for unused nights without us even asking.
