We recently stayed in D loop on the water which is always a great experience. The only issue that we had this trip was that a storm had passed through a few days prior to our visit which caused the power to be out for about the 1st 24 hrs. We would have appreciated a heads up on this so that we had our generator in tow with us rather than when we checking in. Other than that small issue, always have a great time at this location!!

we love Bulltown and camp there often. it was a wild week there was a really bad storm and took down lots of trees and everyone lost there canopies and some awnings and several campers. Boats broke lose and floated away down the lake with jet skies and anything else outside. it was a experience and was over almost as quick as it started. the only complaint was the grass wasn't cut and would like to see some activities planned like they used to have. also we were without electric for 3 days and had to use a generator. be back for the 4th and praying for better weather and cut grass

This was for Memorial Day weekend. The grass was not cut, it was tall in all campsites. A huge storm came in loosing power for days and dropping trees in the campsites. Where was the park rangers? In past years a warning was given by Rangers before the storm hit. Due to power outtage I was not able to get my 5th wheel awning in and it was destroyed. A lot of people lost shelters, tents and awnings that weekend. I also had reservations for the following weekend. Power was still out in my loop I had reservations for and the grass still not cut. I know of campers cutting the grass in thier own spot because it was so tall. Of course I was not credited back and fees grow either weekend.

They use to warn you about storms coming in. Didn’t happen on this trip. Bad winds, campers damaged no power for 4 days. There needs to be a safe space when bad storms and winds especially for tent campers. They locked the bathhouse because power was off which is a bad idea it could have provided shelter during the storms for some.

Beautiful lakeside campsites. Park grounds are well manicured. We stayed in a Class A motorhome during their first come- first serve time of year. There was no state park info at check in, so we had no idea if there were hiking trails available. At the entrance there is a civil war "farm" with interesting placards explaining the various buildings and war encampment sites. Most sites are full hook up, a rarity at state parks!! There is no cell service or internet. They do have pay- per day internet. Bath houses need updating. Will definitely do a return visit and stay longer.

Really peaceful and quiet this time of year. We always make this our 1st trip of the season. Not much to do as several places have closed in Flatwoods. It’s a nice campground though.
