Absolutely loved our week of camping. Grandkids loved the playgrounds, swimming, fishing and eating ice cream and feeding fish at the marina

Our second visit to this park over the years. Lovely park, nice lake. I mistakenly reserved a site in E loop and we have two small dogs-first ever encounter with no pet loops, somehow missed that, tho it is clearly stated. My bad. But, the ranger, Lisa, let us stay in the Volunteer Village since we had paid for a full hook up site in E. We spent 2 weeks here for a much needed break from society and the madness that is social media/media etc. We love the lack of signal. Our weather radio worked just fine, that's all we need.
The bathrooms were kept very clean, and the park is very well maintained.

We had a great time 20th year we have gone there. Would to get a place closer to the water without steep hill since we have had total knees , and would be nice if Wi-Fi worked better and the lots was more level for the campers .

Had a great time. Our site was pretty level. I kinda felt sorry for those in E Loop on front side. Most couldn’t reach the back of camper by the time front was level. The middle of F loop was bad too.
We had a great time and fish were biting❣️

It's very very easy to make reservations on Recreations.gov. Just create an account, find your campground as we do, follow the directions and woohoo sit back and get ready to go camping.

I went for tent camping, But most of other campers were utilizing RVs. Campsite facilities includes water points, dump sites, bathroom with shower, and laundry.
Nearest shopping area is about 20~30mins away, which includes Walmart and gas stations along with restaurants.
I did not have service with verizon, but I was able to use full service when I was near walmart area.
Campsites were very clean. I am looking forward to come back next year.

I have been camping at this campground since I was born! No exaggeration, this is where I grew up summer after summer, and it is an amazing place to make memories. The historical area is very fascinating, and the other amenities located in the campground make for a great vacation destination.

We paid for WiFi service for the 7 day we were there and the service provider, I'm sure approved by the Corp of Engineers, was HORRIBLE! The service was out of service half the time and was very weak even when it was working. The service cost around $50 for the week. The Corp of Engineers need to change to a quality provider that will provide quality service or see if a cell phone tower can be put in the area so cell service is available. There is NO CELL PHONE SERVICE at this campground.
