I love Bulltown Campground. The sites are well maintained and facilities are clean. We love that we can swim, hike, and relax. No cellular access was a positive for us as it allowed us to disconnect and just relax and enjoy the time without interruption.

Invaded by skunks stuck in the tent for 3 hours love Bulltown but they have to get rid of the skunks.

Love the campground but the length of the grass is becoming an issue. The last few times we have been there the grass has been much higher than anyone would expect.

We have been going to Burnsville Lake for years. The bath houses are spotless and the people are very friendly. We love camping at Burnsville.

I want to preface this review by saying that we ended up having a great weekend but it definitely did not start off well. Our camp site was on a slant and it took over 2 hours to get set up. We used every piece of material we had to get level . The tongue of the trailer ended up being on 3 cinder blocks and a brick and we had to use cinder blocks to get to the first step of our camper to get in. Definitely will not chose that site again. Website states WiFi available but was definitely not accessible to our location.

We have fallen in love with this campground. We have been staying in Loop C and have never found a bad campsite. We use a booster with our AT&T service that we put on the roof of our camper which gives us the ability to at least text and make phone calls. Sometimes we can even view the weather and look up things to do in the area. Our favorite thing to do from the campground is to kayak down to Falls Creek. It's a 4 mile flat paddle down the Little Kanawha River to the waterfall. We see all kinds of interesting things. Almost saw a bear on the shoreline but missed it by 30 min per a swimmer at the beach. It's a very relaxing paddle and we had a picnic on the rocks at the falls. Total paddling was 8 miles and we did it in 3 1/2 hours round trip. We have also walked the Bulltown Camp grounds to the trenches and visited the museum. Very interesting history. Other things to do in the area within 90 mins and a MUST do is to go to Hawks Nest State Park and ride the tram then walk the 4 mile round trip rail trail behind the gift shop. If you can only walk 2 miles, then go up a mile and get a breathtaking view of the water fall there. On your way back, stop at Carnifex Battlefield for a walk on Patterson Trail then stop at the Long Point Overlook to view the cliffs of Summerville Lake. Bulltown Camp is a hidden gem and a great place to make your base camp as you branch out to visit the area. Don't forget to visit the New River Gorge Canyon Rim Visitors Center and take the audio drive of the gorge.

From Clarksburg, WV and I-79, take Exit 91 (Roanoke), travel south on U.S. 19 for 28 miles. Follow signs into campground.
