Battle Run

Unfortunately we had a site that was right next to the basketball court. The inconsiderate people staying there had no concept of the quiet hours and were playing games well past the cutoff. We reported this several times but no one would come out or try to enforce the rules. Do not try to call the number listed for a ranger because they don't ever answer the phone. I spoke to a ranger about it the next day and he said I have to walk up to the ranger station if there is a problem. Well guess what? No one is at the ranger station past 10PM when the offense occurred. It is sad they don't enforce their rules or monitor this campground because it is really nice otherwise. I think that if you go in the off season or choose a site more carefully it would be okay, however they close the campground in early October.

Love camping at Battle Run!

The campground itself is as good or better than any other camp we have ever used. Everything is well maintained and affordable. That being said, my only complaints are directed to other campers who show a lack of respect for their fellow campers by not following the rules of the campground and not monitoring their own children. When there are children as young as six to eight years of age riding bicycles with no lights, no shirts, no shoes, and no helmets after 11 p.m. while yelling back and forth to each other, then you have a problem that affects everyone within earshot. I finally had to make a line of objects (coolers, bikes, kayaks etc.) as a barrier across our camping spot just so they wouldn't come riding through the middle of where we were camping. Irresponsible parents ought not to expect other campers to be "the village" to raise their children.

It’s always a good time there

We visit Battle Run regularly and recently camped, as part of a larger group. While the water pressure was extremely low in the bathhouse, the facility was very clean. The security is top notch, however the lack of helmets on children riding bikes, throughout the day and after dark, is concerning. It wasn’t long ago that children wearing helmets while riding bikes were rewarded with a certificate for a free ice cream cone; and riding after dusk was not allowed. It would be wonder if that practiced was put back into place before a child is injured or killed.

Clean campground, quiet. Nice hot showers. Beautiful lake.

We had a very bad storm on Monday night . The park ranger came by and check on us. He put together a water safety clad ina few minutes to keep the kids busy with electricity be out. He went above and beyond. The hosts were super nice to my kids and me. I greatly appreciated it

Had a great time

Love camping here! Only problem at all is the ability to get sites. But live being right on the lake. The bathhouses most generally are clean. And this year the 3 ladies I encountered so far at the registration booth were exceptional!
