Area is very beautiful and there are a lot of activities people can enjoy. Only concern is the lack of shelter grounds maintenance. Grass should be cut and trees trimmed especially near the grills. low hanging limbs are a fire hazard!

We had to clean bathroom, the grass was real high. I have Lyme disease, not from here but was afraid some of my family would get it walking in the tall grass, I told my family I paid $90 to clean the restroom and should had a mower to mow . Very disappointed. Last year was nice even it cost to much with no power or no one took care of the place

We had a great time! The only negative about our experience is when we arrived another group was there having a birthday party despite the sign saying reserved. In their defense the reserved sign is small and hangs underneath the sign out in the grass. My suggestion is to hang a chain across the shelter itself with a reserved sign to avoid the confusion.

Shelter 3 is beautiful with a view of the lake. The shelter was clean and ready for us with a grill and trash cans on site. A couple negatives are there is no electricity at shelter and no sidewalk from the parking lot to the shelter. This makes it challenging for people in wheelchairs or walkers. They would need to park at the restrooms and take the sidewalk from the bathrooms to the shelter which is a long walk for someone that is handicapped.

We had a great time at the shelter even though it rained. Please make sure you contact the reservation office by phine to ensure you are getting the shelter you want. They are not numbered.

We have annual reunions at Summersville Lake and Dam, we have always had a good experience. This year the grass was so long that our smaller children and elders had trouble in playing and playing in the beautiful scenic area surrounding the shelter.

We rented shelter 2 for our family reunion, parking was great and near the shelter as was the playground. The sidewalks make it great for handicapped individuals. The bathroom is a bit away for the disabled since they have one central bathroom for the 3 shelters and other picnic tables throughout the park. The shelter has a grill but no water or electricity. It works but adding electricity and water would make it great.
