Unfortunately we had a site that was right next to the basketball court. The inconsiderate people staying there had no concept of the quiet hours and were playing games well past the cutoff. We reported this several times but no one would come out or try to enforce the rules. Do not try to call the number listed for a ranger because they don't ever answer the phone. I spoke to a ranger about it the next day and he said I have to walk up to the ranger station if there is a problem. Well guess what? No one is at the ranger station past 10PM when the offense occurred. It is sad they don't enforce their rules or monitor this campground because it is really nice otherwise. I think that if you go in the off season or choose a site more carefully it would be okay, however they close the campground in early October.

Premium site (“water frontage “) was NOT on the water at all, because the lake level was down so low. NOT worth the premium price for campsite. Proximity to Carnafix Ferry civil war battle site was a plus.

We were able to camp at our favorite campsite. Facilities were always clean and well maintained. Staff was very nice. The rafting season was in full swing on the Gauley.

Super-helpful staff, clean, quiet, lots of space between your neighbors, beautiful large park. Showers didn't work that well when we were there, but they also might have been starting to close down for the winter. Cannot emphasize enough the super-helpful staff. They were tops!

I love Battle run campground. this time of year they have all of the white water people camping their. The only thing is they put 4 and 5 tents in one site . That should not happen. It takes away from a great campground

The campground is accessible via U.S. Highway 19, located approximately 3 miles to the east. From U.S. Highway 19, State Route 129 provides direct access to the campground.

- NO PETS or livestock permitted
- All motorized recreational vehicles, including motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATV), utility terrain vehicles (UTV), mopeds, scooters, golf carts, hoverboards, etc., that are not licensed for use on all roadways are prohibited in the campgrounds.
- Please contact the campground or lake office for questions on power driven mobility aids
- You may stay up to 14 nights during a visit at this campground.
- No person(s) may camp at one or more campsites for more than 14 days in a 30 day consecutive period at Summersville Lake. This includes the reservation holder (primary occupant) and all other overnight occupants.
- Any person utilizing a Federal Pass for a discount on camping fees must present the discount pass upon request, it must be signed on the back of the card, be registered on the campsite, and occupy the site overnight for the entire duration of the reservation to receive the full discount.
- You may only be registered as the primary occupant at one campsite upon check-in.
- The primary occupant is responsible for the adherence to camping rules and regulations by all other occupants, guests, and visitors on the campsite.
- All trash and debris must be completely removed from the campsite upon departure.
