Hopkins Mountain Fireman's Cabin offers a beautiful, serene getaway with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for nature lovers. The cabin is well-stocked and clean, featuring ample firewood and basic amenities, making it a comfortable stay. We had a wonderful time at Hopkins mountain. The cabin was neat and there was most everything we expected to be there and there was enough firewood. Beauty obviously is in the location advantage this place enjoys. Sunset was beautiful.. as evening turned to night, stars that hide behind city lights and pollution revealed themselves in their full glory. They shined like golden flowers on the tall trees here, trees that shed their leaves just a couple of weeks ago. Trees glowed wonderfully as they reached out to the night sky to support what appeared like an umbrella of stars. And the patterns on the umbrella changed into more and more beautiful art as the night sky moved from east to west. A campfire, good food, family and just the night and the nature. What else can we ask for !! Woke up early, started the campfire and enjoyed the sunrise as the sky changed colors until the sun appeared bright and smiling above the horizon. A memorable experience !! Highly Recommend it !!

What a gem they have here. Easy road access, electricity, cell phone service, remoteness, and the views are spectacular. The beds suck if you are 6'4", but we made do. Take a small dolley if you have heavy stuff to carry to cabin. Pit toilet can and did splash up on the bum once, so consider yourself warned.

Blue Bend camping area is a beautiful place that I can't wait to return to in the spring!

Bear hunters hung around the gate both days just sitting in there trucks as the dogs chased bear past us while we hunted deer right behind the cabin. Nothing illegal, just a personal distaste for the behavior. It did scare up a large bear that ran right past one of us.
