What Guests Are Saying

Prentice Park Campground offers online check-in and has friendly camp hosts, with nice pathways and nearby hiking trails, especially beautiful at sunset. However, some issues were noted, including management problems with campsite assignments and cleanliness concerns in the bathrooms and showers. Overall, the campground features reasonable rates, a playground, and level RV sites, but improvements in facility maintenance are needed.

heck-in is fully online now, with no on-site registration. When I arrived, someone was already occupying my campsite and I had to ask them to leave, which was unexpected and not well managed.

The bathrooms require a passcode, reportedly due to past issues with homelessness in the area. There are only two shower rooms, so you may have to wait during busy times. The toilets also appear to be locked at night, which is inconvenient.

On the positive side, the bugs were not bad during my stay, and there are some very nice nearby hiking trails that are especially beautiful around sunset. The campground is not too close to the main highway, so noise is generally manageable. The camp host was friendly and seemed well-traveled, which was a nice touch.

There is no Wi-Fi on site, but the rates are reasonable overall. Despite a few issues, I would consider staying here again.

They have an artisan spring so bring water containers
Playground

Nice, level RV sites with grassy area and firepit. Nice paved walking paths. No place to dump your black or grey water tanks. There are men's and women's bathrooms that are locked at night. Also 2 shower rooms with keypad lock codes (which are emailed to you with your reservation). The shower rooms were NOT clean (dried urine on the toilet seat, waste basket was filled with water/junk floating around, a wad of mucus left in the sink). Shower water was cold and not adjustable -- press a button for 5 seconds of spray. I called the maintenance number and no response or follow up. I talked with the campground host who said they were cleaned twice a day (which they clearly were NOT) and she made no attempt to help rectify the situation. For $65/night I'd would hope for better and cleaner shower facilities. Campground was pretty empty the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend -- so if busy, expect long waits at the bathrooms or shower rooms.

Great place to tent camp. Always clean bathrooms and showers. Every time the campground hosts were extremely nice, including the people on the phone.
7/10/2023 I got a tent site. Prefect for tents, ground was smooth.
6/17/2022 camped (2 small tents) in the "overflow" area (upfront by the day area)
8/4/2017 camped (5 small tents) in the "overflow" area (upfront by the day area)

This is a nice city campground. We are actually in site #8, which is a non electric site on the RV loop. It's for trailers that don't need hookups.
Overall, the campground is clean, chill and manicured. The bathrooms were very clean. I cannot comment on the water temp in the shower, but I've not heard anyone scream due to the temp! Also, the public bathrooms are locked overnight, but when you check in, the camp ghosts were quick to give us the code for the showers, and there is a toilet there.
I've stayed in a number of city park campgrounds over the years, and this is really quite nice. Thanks for keeping it in great shape.
