What Guests Are Saying
Franklin Lake is a beloved campground with spacious, well-maintained sites and beautiful surroundings, making it a favorite for many returning campers. Visitors appreciate the clean facilities, scenic hiking trails, and the tranquility of the lake, especially for families and young swimmers. Some concerns include the lack of showers and limited water access, but overall, the positive experiences and friendly hosts contribute to its charm.

Great campground. Really no bad sites. Fishing on Franklin Lake is hit or miss, very shallow. Butternut lake is great fishing though! Fishing pier and kayak launch located on East side of Butternut Lake.

One of the best campgrounds we’ve ever been to. Great spacing between sites. Beautiful water. Great biking. No showers but we managed. No dump stations but easy place to dump behind Kwik Trip in Eagle River.

Beautiful, quiet, private! Loved our tent-camping experience. Enclosed loo’s were clean and a pleasant surprise. Bring your own water. No showers. The path along the lake is extraordinary. Firewood available in covered rack at the crossroads to the forest approach. VERY DARK and very canopied. Loved it!

Thier was no water available to fill our camper; no dump station either. When I called rec.gov I was told I could drive back to Eagle River to fill up and dump for a fee.
I wish that would have been stated on the reservation site.

The unit #39 we stayed in was hard to back into because my truck is longer "fullbox" with half cab. Your metal gate post restricted my turning ability. Overall your Camping Host were friendly and helpful and kept the facilities clean . We have stayed in State Parks in the past and we felt your Parks & Host and are so much nicer. Thank You for the nice enjoyable stay, Tom & Linda Luedtke
