What Guests Are Saying
Franklin Lake is a beloved campground with spacious, well-maintained sites and beautiful surroundings, making it a favorite for many returning campers. Visitors appreciate the clean facilities, scenic hiking trails, and the tranquility of the lake, especially for families and young swimmers. Some concerns include the lack of showers and limited water access, but overall, the positive experiences and friendly hosts contribute to its charm.

Had a great time. Beach is excellent. Campground host is friendly and works very hard. We have been camping here for 40 years, and are not happy about updating many sites to electric sites. There are many campers with large rigs that do not follow the generator time rules. Electric sites will add that many more big rigs to the mix. Wish it would stay as it was.

The site was real nice . It accommodated our camper nicely. We reserved it back in December.
We used Recreation. gov for another reservation earlier for another Campground and had issues getting through an doing it online . By the time I got through my first several dates and sites were taken . I was not happy .

We love camping at Franklin Lake. Entering from the south is an eternal drive. Best to enter from the north. Getting water is convenient and dumping at the municipal site in Eagle River is awesome! We usually camp early June when it isn't too busy. This year the misquitoes were bad! Otherwise, love it!

The campground was great. Early in the season so there were just 6 campers in the South loop. Well kept facilities and pleasant experience. Camp host is great!

We enjoy our visits each year. We meet another couple and love the time we get to spend together. The nature trails are nice, and you can take a walk to Butternut Lake. St. Germain has a great big Flea Market on Mondays. And one of my favorite things is listening to the Loons sing. This last trip 6 of them swam by. Dusty, the camp host does a wonderful job.

We absolutely love Franklin Lake! Wish we could come up here more often! We have our favorite campsite and enjoy the time spent here with our 2 dogs. Love going on walks and spend time in the water fishing.
