Love this campground! They fixed up the beach which was very nice. There are woods in between sites so you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. The only drawback is the water pumps. I couldn’t even pump the one in back it is so hard!

Been going to this campground for over 50 years. Most enjoyable week of the year. Have met amazing people and have become friends with them. The campground host this year is friendly and kept the rest rooms clean and stocked. Very much appreciate. See you next year.

I hate to write a review for others to find this very special spot but my family has enjoyed it for over 15 years and if you’ve never been put it on your to-do. All the things you can expect from a Nicolet Forest campground… crystal clear water, quiet, loons.. The campground hosts do a great job keeping the toilets clean, firewood for sale at a private home right before the entrance of the park - Decent sized bundles for five dollars. Beautifully wooded sites. Truly blessed to have such a resource available to us.

Likes: small campground, nice beach for kids, clear lake water, campsites nicely spaced from each other/equipped with firepit, table and feel safe camping there
Dislike: Not a fan of the reservation system, people seem to abuse this system by reserving more sites/dates needed and are always the prime sites on the lake or the sites close by. Some no-shows in reserved sites so others can't use them. Prefer the old system which was first come -first serve.

Spectacle Lake has to be our favorite campground!!! It has a beautiful beach and is very rustic. It's the best 2 weeks of the year.

I had a very nice camping experience
I stayed at a lakeside campsite (#3) and it was very nice, roomy, and quiet. Two picnic tables; one at the campsite itself, and one by the lake just a very short walk away. A very laid back and enjoyable experience! I look forward to returning in the future.

From Eagle River, travel 7.6 miles to FR2178 (Military Road). Turn left (north) and continue 2.9 miles to Kentuck Lake Road (FR2465). Turn right (northeast) on FR2465 and continue 1.7 miles to FR2196. Turn left (north) and continue 2.2 miles to Spectacle Lake Road (FR2572). Turn right (east) and travel 1.2 miles to the campground.
The closest major road is US Highway 45, approximately 15 miles southwest of the campground, providing access to the surrounding area.
