What Guests Are Saying
Chippewa Campground is highly praised for its peaceful, well-maintained environment, spacious and private sites, and excellent facilities, including clean bathrooms and showers. Many campers enjoy the variety of amenities, such as biking paths, a playground, and good fishing opportunities. While some guests noted challenges like bugs during wet conditions and difficulties with site accessibility, the overall sentiment is positive, with many planning to return year after year.

We struggled locating campground using Google Maps. Should have noted directions on recreation.gov for reservation. Campground is very secluded -- good spot for a multi-day reservation.

We absolutely love this place! Always clean and campsites are not too close, so there is privacy.

We camp at Chippewa NP Campground every Labor Day weekend. We love everything about. The sites are nicely shaded, although sometimes a bit difficult to back into with our travel trailer. It is a great place to bike. I like that there is a path between all of the different loops with bathrooms and pay showers stationed in each loop along the pathway. There is a nice retro playground for children, and adults. Lol I'm 58 and liked the slide and swings too. There's other amenities as well, beach, fishing pier, and sand volleyball, etc. It is a very quiet campground where other campers observe quiet hours automatically. We will definitely be back next year! Our site and our loop had electric. Some are rustic. There are 4 camp hosts throughout the campground. Flush toilets and showers are relatively clean; No complaints. Showers are $1 for 5 minutes. It takes tokens only with token machines at each location. Tokens can only be purchased in $1 and $5 increments. Cash only not quarters. Didn't see or feel many mosquitos! I love that! Online reservations were easy and sites were inexpensive.
Things I would like to see but not a deal breaker: (Dry) firewood (and ice) within the campground. The fishing pier is not very old but needs TLC. I think an annual spray waterproofing is all that it would need. Bike stalls would be nice near beaches and pier. We have expensive e-bikes so would like that since we can't bring them on the trail. I know the NPS doesn,t have a lot of money and isn't near any cities; so I understand.
I hope this review helps others. The sunsets here are beautiful!

Site was vey nice. Knowing where to get fire wood right away would have been nice. The beach was not in good shape. Fishing was good, seeing wild life was great. Enjoyed our stay. Will return

We have been camped at Chippewa campground every year for 30 years. It has always been a good time. Even the times it rained everyday. As the years go by we have noticed a decline in fish and their size. That is the only disappointing thing about this campground.
