Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained facilities and the natural surroundings, making it a favorite spot for family outings. While some amenities like flush toilets and showers are lacking, and staffing issues have been noted, the overall experience is positive, with a strong sense of community among campers.

Great place! Please don’t bring noisy generators here.
Trail around the perimeter of peninsula is fun to explore - as well as the pine island (peninsula) attached. VERY quiet on Thursday, noisy on Friday.
No swimmable area. Can bring kayaks as most sites have a personal dock!!

Great time on Ice Age Trail. Wonderful water from the spring. Large sites with reasonable privacy compared to state parks in WI.

We have enjoyed many years of camping at spearhead. Birding is espially good on the flowage. We look for the eagles nest each year.
