Beautiful site. We didn't mind the trains going through every 30 minutes directly across from our site. Views were beautiful, fishing was relaxing, and nice little brewhouse in town.

Sandy is a Very friendly, informative and helpful office attendant. The park was clean and seemed well run. The trains are nearby and can be an issue. The Potosi Brewery is nearby and always a great place to visit. The park is also located close to Dubuque so day trips can be in order.

Nice place to stay on the river. Trains nearby but not so loud that it's a problem. Stop in at the Grotto or cross the river to Dubuque to see the lock and dam in action.
Only issue was the guy who stopped by our site to give us grief about our dog. Kind of creepy guy who said he had been watching us all weekend and noticed one or two times the dog was off leash. Like when we were going out and let the dog run from the trailer to the truck. Hopefully this guy is not a regular and I know he wasn't the campground host or ranger because we talked to them.

This was beautiful campground with very good facilities including great sunsets over the Mississippi River. Camping was quiet, facilities clean, campground hostess very nice and as a senior with a recreation pass, positively CHEAP!
Online reservation system, for me, was unusable. I found it impossible to determine if sites were available for my desired stay. I finally decided to simply arrive and hope that a site was available. It was, and I hope to return there.

Each site is laid out for easy parking and each site is paved! I really liked that. Highly recommend Grant River Campground.

Great place to stay right on the Mississippi river. Only problem right next to major railroad track.
