Rim Campground offers a beautiful location with walking paths to scenic overlooks and access to nearby lakes, making it an appealing choice for campers. Many guests praised the friendly and helpful camp host, as well as the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities. However, some noted issues with noise levels, close proximity of campsites, and parking limitations, particularly for RVs.

We stayed in spot 22. Unfortunately, spots 21, 23, and another on the inner circle were all part of a large family camping together. They were loud, up late every night, kids hit our vehicle several time with sports balls and kites, one kid even climbed in our car just after we arrived. The site itself was clean. The women's bathroom smelled so bad it burned your nose and throat. It hailed our second night, and our tent flooded, so we had to sleep in our car. However, the host, Larry, was very kind. We hung all of our things out to dry early the next morning and he didn't rush us in leaving, although we were able to leave by checkout time. Nice guy constantly driving around picking up other people's trash. We visited Willow Springs Lake, which was beautiful. We didn't get the relaxing weekend we were hoping for, and likely will not stay at this location again, but the kids still said they had fun and that's what matters. It sure is a trip they will never forget!

First time camping as a family by ourselves. The campground made it easy. Camp host was friendly. Vault toilets were acceptable. Having fresh water available to refill our 5gal container was a must for washing dishes and hands. We don't have the space in our vehicle to carry enough water up there for the weekend. As I expected, the campground was full and at least half the spots were occupied by RVs. So there was some generator noise, but it didn't run ALL night. We have small children, so we turned in early and could still hear the neighboring campers talking, playing music, etc. A minor annoyance, but not unexpected in a campground, and we eventually fell asleep. We could hear the traffic driving down Forest Road surprisingly late into Friday night (I'm taking midnight) and could see the light from headlights flashing through our tent. We'd maybe try to get a site on the opposite side, further from the road, next time. All in all, we had a great time. Another camper helped us jump our vehicle when we were packed and ready to leave, and had discovered the battery was dead, so that was super helpful!

Nothing wrong with the campground itself, but I made a reservation for four nights, only to find the campground closed upon arrival. I received notice of the closure by email two days after the trip started. Not real convenient!

  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.

    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
